*RESIDENTIAL MANAGER-JOB DESCRIPTION*
The Residential Manager and Residential Manager/QIDP reports to the Residential Services Program Director and Division Director for Residential Services, or designee, as well as being responsible to the Vice President/ COO and President/CEO.
The position concept dictates that the Residential Manager will be responsible for day-to-day operations of one or multiple Individualized Residential Alternatives (IRAs) including ensuring program participants receive quality care via the planning and delivery of individual services.
A Residential Manager/QIDP will have primary responsibility for at least one IRA.
The Residential Manager will: 1.
Actively cooperate with the President and other staff in a joint endeavor in satisfactorily achieving the goals of CWI.
2.
Act in the capacity of individual coordinator, as appropriate.
As a individual coordinator s(he) is responsible for developing individual participant objectives for Life Plans based on individual evaluation with consultation from the Individual Service Team.
3.
Supervise the implementation of the IRA Residential Staff Action Plans for each program participant, ensuring the integration of services, recording progress and initiating periodic reviews.
4.
Spend a majority of time on site at assigned IRAs when particpant(s) are home, in direct interaction or observation of participants and supervision of direct care staff.
5.
Oversee activities of the Residential staff relative to the care of participant and delivery of services.
6.
Work in conjunction with the interdisciplinary teams of each participant in order to coordinate necessary transportation, care and services.
7.
Be responsible for the day-to-day operation of assigned services and sites, including, but not limited to matters of personnel, provision of services, finances, etc.
and by overseeing the provision and preparation of nutritious, well balanced meals for the participants, monitoring inventory, shopping and purchases.
8.
Be responsible for safety programs within the IRAs, including the fire safety program—training of staff and participants conducting drills, documentation, planning corrective action as needed.
9.
Work in concert with the Division Director for Residential Services, or designee, to maintain a safe and healthy well maintained home and vehicle(s), ensuring they are adequate for the health and safety of all persons and that the premises and vehicles comply with all regulations/safety codes.
10.
Develop positive working relationships with program participants, their family members, friends and advocates to promote positive life experiences.
11.
Promote quality community inclusion activities that contribute to individual participant growth and independence via meaningful social, recreational, leisure and other activities.
12.
Be responsible for ensuring safe staffing via appropriate staff assignments and training of staff, including scheduling of relief staff, and training in the delivery of services.
13.
Work in conjunction with the Division Director for Residential Services, or designee, in directing, evaluating, assigning, and disciplining staff.
14.
Be responsible for management of program participant funds, petty cash, in-house monies, etc.
15.
Be responsible for contributing to the development of IRA budgets and overseeing the implementation of these budgets.
16.
Be responsible for staff development, mentoring direct care staff, and conducting of on-going performance appraisal, inclusive of planning and documenting on–site orientation.
17.
Be responsible for development of Plans of Corrective Action (POCA) as needed.
18.
Participate in periodic meetings with the individual Service Team for the purpose of assessing progress, and developing service strategies.
19.
Monitor all recordkeeping to insure compliance with agency standards, regulations and program participant needs.
20.
Take part in any professional development training as requested/assigned.
21.
Provide coverage for vacations, leaves of absence, etc.
of direct care staff.
22.
Participate in the shared beeper coverage system for residential on-call.
23.
Perform other duties and responsibilities as assigned by the Division director for Residential Services, or designee.
24.
Act in any other capacity as directed by the President/CEO.
*Qualifications for this position include: *The minimum qualifications will be a High School Diploma with 2 Years’ experience working with people with intellectual/developmental disabilities.
, Must be capable of handling all position responsibilities outlined in the job description, including leadership role, scheduling, problem solving, direct care, and accountability for quality service provisions.
Must also have acceptable driving record.
Valid NYS driver’s license acceptable to Agency insurance standards.
