What You'll Do:
Provide friendly and attentive customer service as you oversee the day to day operations of the department and supervise the department team to achieve sales, gross profit and shrink goals.
You'll handle receiving, storage, processing, cutting, and trimming meat products; packaging, tying, wrapping, weighing, pricing, and labeling products; maintaining case conditions and stock levels; fulfilling customer requests for product from the meat case and help answer their meat questions; and selection, training, development and scheduling of meat associates.
Requirements:
Meat Manager candidates must be a certified meat cutter or apprentice and have adequate knowledge of the preparation of different cuts of meat.
You'll need to be friendly and courteous in order to provide excellent customer service, as well as the ability to read, write, and perform basic math functions.
Excellent communication skills, basic computer skills and the ability to operate knives, bandsaw, grinder, slicer, and various other meat processing equipment, as well as case cutters, wrapping machine, baler/compactor, and computerized scales is also important.
Department Managers will need to be available nights, weekends, and holidays, and meat department associates must be at least 18 years of age.
