Tutor - Out of School

The district has vacancies for tutors to work with MS/HS students who are out of school for a long term basis.
A secondary-aged student (Grades 6-12) requires a minimum of 15 hours of instruction per week.
Responsibilities Review subject specific content based on the students' schedules Create educational materials to further demonstrate subject matter to be covered in academic sessions when necessary Assess the progress of assigned students to ensure effective processes Plan creative lessons to engage and educate students when necessary to teach or reteach material.
Establish a friendly, encouraging and welcoming environment for students Connect with administrators and counselors to keep them informed of student's progress and areas to be improved Understand the unique needs of students that need an alternative learning environment and possess the flexibility to change lessons to meet the needs of individual students Job Qualifications External Candidates: Submit a letter of interest, resume, NYS certification (valid certification at the time of application is required) and all supporting materials.
