Come join our team at *Warren County Head Start* in providing quality early childhood education to children, families, and our community! This position is located in our Glens Falls Center and is a Long Term Teacher Sub Position.
*About Us: *Warren County Head Start and Early Head Start are federally funded programs for pregnant women, children ages birth through 5 years old and their families.
Our goal is to provide high-quality education and support, as early as pregnancy through the Preschool years to children, families and our community.
*Position Overview*: This is to cover a maternity leave for approximately 3 months.
The Long Term Teacher will be considered a temporary full time position until the maternity leave ends.
Once the maternity leave ends part time substitute positions will be available.
The teacher is the lead educator in the classroom and is responsible for curriculum planning, record keeping, report writing, and administering of screenings and assessments.
* Responsible for planning experiences and activities that are developmentally appropriate, individualized and consistent with designated curriculum.
* Engages in high quality staff to child interaction and staff to staff interactions
* Encourages parent participation in all aspects of the program
* Uses authentic assessment techniques, including anecdotal notes, to plan for individual children
*Qualifications*:
* BA in Early Childhood Education or related field
* Experience working with children from 3 to 5 years of age
