SUNY Adirondack (SUNY-ADK) is a comprehensive community college and member of the State University of New York serving approximately 3,500 full- and part-time credit students annually.
Located in the foothills of the Adirondack Mountains, SUNY-ADK is one hour north of Albany, twenty minutes from historic Saratoga Springs, and just minutes from Lake George.
Major Responsibilities
The instructional responsibilities for this full-time tenure track position in the TECS Division may involve teaching all levels of the engineering curriculum in a comprehensive two-year program.
The successful candidate should possess the ability to teach Engineering Physics I, II and III, Statics, Dynamics, Strengths of Materials, Introduction to Circuit Analysis and other Engineering related coursework.
The willingness to work cooperatively in a team setting in order to create and assess curricula is a necessity.
Service on college-wide committees as well as other duties may be required as defined by the faculty contract.
Required Skills
Preference will be given to candidates who demonstrate a commitment to the community college philosophy; familiarity with the use of technology in the classroom; teaching strategies with a focus on student-centered learning; excellent interpersonal skills; and a willingness to work in a collegial setting within the division.
Educational Requirements
A master’s degree in mechanical or civil engineering or related appropriate field is required.
Teaching experience, especially in a community college environment is highly desirable.
Placement on salary scale reflects individual degrees/experience.
The salary range is $47,234 - $58,428 and is complemented by a generous benefits package.
Summer teaching and overload are additional.
