UPK Before & Afterschool Childcare Teacher PT

Queensbury United Methodist Kidz a licensed Before and After School Child Care Program for grades UPK through 5th grade in the Queensbury School District.
We provide a safe, fun, and developmentally appropriate environment for children and are looking for an energetic person willing to fill the position of an UPK Group Teacher in both our morning and afternoon sessions.
*Major Duties and Responsibilities:* * Supervises the children through all activities in the classroom and outdoors on the playground.
Work with other staff to develop age-appropriate crafts and activities.
* Implements curriculum within the established guidelines.
* Designs and implements daily lesson/activity plans.
* Makes ongoing, systematic observations and evaluations of each child.
* Maintains positive relationships and effective communication with parents.
* Maintains program room and equipment.
* Maintains required program records.
* Attends and participates in program activities, staff meetings, and required trainings as per New York State OCFS School Aged Child Care Regulations.
* Abides by all licensing regulations.
* All other duties assigned by the School Aged Childcare Director.
*Qualifications:* * Meets educational and experience qualifications established by the New York Office of Child and Family Services.
* A CDA (Pre-K), early education associate or 4-year degree is required for this position.
* At least 18 years of age.
* CPR, First Aid, AED certifications, and Child Abuse prevention training within 30 days of hire date.
* Previous experience working with children in a developmental setting is preferred.
* Ability to plan, organize and implement age-appropriate/developmentally appropriate program activities.
* Previous experience with diverse populations.
Ability to develop positive, authentic relationships with people from different backgrounds.
